It has been revealed that President- Elect, Barack Obama and his wife Michelle were sensationally poised to star in a remake of the Planet of The Apes TV Series.
First aired in 1974, The Planet of the Apes was a massive flop on the television screens. Nevertheless, there was an air of certainty that had Mr Obama lost the election, his casting (and that of Michelle) in a remake would have sky rocketed the show to the top of the ratings.
A studio insider told us he was set to play the head gorilla, General Urko. And although the plot would have continued in the original vein, ie: Urko portraying the sadistic beast who despised humans, Obama had agreed to the role, only, if they softened the gorilla up a bit.
Our film studio mole told us;
¨Barrack made it clear that he wasn't going to play a control freak gorilla who hates humans, so the director and screenwriters got together and changed the script to accommodate him¨
He went on ¨So he would have basically started of as the ¨old Urko¨, but the storyline would have seen his female gorilla wife (played by Michelle) embark upon an affair with a human. Naturally, Urko would have been absolutely livid when discovering this, but quickly realizes that this maybe an opportunity for him to grab even more power.¨
¨ And after some twists, turns and contradictions he gains enough, both human and ape support to found a democratic party whose aim is to democratically elect territory leaders. The ideal of course would have been to have equal human and ape representation in the territory Senate¨.
¨Anyways, we are now looking at approaching George W, to gauge his interest as the protagonist in a remake of the 1975 film. The Land That Time Forgot¨
