In August of 1969, actress Sharon Tate was two weeks away from giving birth to a child. On the night of August 8th, she was stabbed 16 times by Susan Atkins and friends. She died pleading for the life of her baby. The last words she heard were "Woman, I have no mercy for you."
Susan Atkins has been in prison for 37 years for participating in the Manson killings. Atkins is reportedly suffering from terminal brain cancer. She now looks to the deceased victims for inspiration.
"Brain tumor, folks!" said the 60-year old Atkins. "My brain is all messed up just like Voyteck Frykowski after we broke a pistol over his head!"
Atkins is currently applying for a release from prison on compassionate grounds.
"I've only got six months to live," said the inmate. "Our victims would have done anything for six months more of life, or even six minutes! Shouldn't I be given the mercy they were denied? Fair is fair!"
Atkins has also had a leg amputated. "I can only hop around," she pleads. "I can't run like Abigail Folger ran, before we tackled her and stabbed her to death. But I swear to you, when I hop a free woman, I'll be hopping for Abigail!"
When asked if she would be a danger to society if released, Atkins seemed astounded. "Do you realize how long I've been in prison? Why, if I hadn't stabbed Sharon Tate to death, her unborn child would be nearly forty years old! Steve Parent, the teenager we sent along for the ride just because he was there with the other pig celebrities, why he'd be pushing sixty now! I think 40 years is just about enough for just one murder spree! OK, so we went out and killed the LaBiancas the next night. It still counts as one spree! Tate-LaBianca murders. There's a hyphen. HeLLO!"
Atkins was also asked what she would do to serve society if released. "Serving society is what it was all about!" she replied. "We killed those pigs to start a race war that would take the lives of thousands--if not millions! Do you realize the effect that would have had on traffic levels in Los Angeles County? Just look at the traffic now! I know there's not much I can accomplish in six months. But if I can get just one white person and one black person to kill each other, I know I will have made a difference. With God's help, I know I can do it. And when I say 'god', I mean Charlie!"
