Former Vice President Al Gore's summer home was one of four luxury homes in Seattle burned down today in an attack that appears to have been committed by the Earth Liberation Front (ELF). The ELF has been associated with other arson attacks in Washington State and Oregon in the past few years.
A sign near the blazes read: "Built Green? Nope BLACK!! McMansions not green. ELF."
In the past, ELF had generally been thought of as supporting Gore, an outspoken critic of global warming. Police figure ELF was unaware that Gore was one of the homeowners attacked.
A blog comment posted about the incident, which appears to be from an ELF supporter, asserted that they didn't know it was Gore's house. But the commenter, posting under the name haddanuffathiscrap, then said: "Serves him right anyway. Gore's a pussy!"
Gore could not be reached for comment, but a spokesman said that Gore "is definitely not a pussy. Maybe a wuss, but not a pussy."
