Jimmy Jones, a local Caucasian man who is a self proclaimed "Soul Music Nut" (particularly for the work of Otis Redding), seems to be a hypocrite regarding race relations.
Jimmy who comes from an affluent gentrified suburb has little interaction with other races aside from his soul music. Despite his enthusiasm for African American music and culture of 45 years ago Mr Jones has proven to be quite ignorant of the problems todays African Americans face. He is also a little more than hostile towards them.
"Today's black kids scare me a little. Once I got lost on the way to the brokerage firm and had to take a little side trip through the ghetto, I made sure to lock my doors there, those hip hoppers would've torn me apart if I had encountered any. They were probably all smoking crack behind the KFC or something. I tell ya why can't black people today be more like their grand parents generation when they always smiled and danced and sang sweet soul music?"
Jimmy Jones is need of a reality check.
