WASHINGTON (FMLiveWire) - The Israeli lobby has attacked Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul for saying that Israel is compelling the USA to wage war on Iran.

"The government of Israel encourages Americans to go into Iran," Paul stated on NBC's Meet the Press. The Texas lawmaker added that neoconservatives have also been pushing the administration into bombing Iran.

In response, an AIPAC spokesman indicated, "Ron Paul is correct, but he should not blurt the truth out like that. We have bought George Bush and Dick Cheney and all our other Zionist puppets to do our bidding. They have their orders to shed American blood in Iraq and Iran for us."

When asked what he would do as president "if Iran invaded Israel," Paul said the idea of an Iranian attack on Israel is as absurd as saying, "Iran is about to invade Mars."

Paul made his honest and forthright remarks as Israeli politicians and their cronies are hyping their agitation against Tehran, even though recent reports have confirmed the peaceful nature of the country's nuclear activities.

In fact, it is Israel which is the warmongering nuclear proliferator in the Middle East, and Israel continues to steal Palestinian land as it turns Israel into an anti-Arab apartheid state dedicated to Zionist purity and ethnic cleansing.

Paul also said he would chop the billions of dollars in annual aid Washington provides to Israel if he becomes US President.

Paul went on to argue that real conservatives don't start wars, they end them, as in Korea and Vietnam.

Paul supports an immediate withdrawal from Iraq, and an end to neoconservative military adventurism.

"I'm a strict constitutionalist [and] this has separated me from the other candidates," he added.

"I'm the last thing from an isolationist," he said. "An isolationist is a protectionist--they want to build walls around their country. They may want to bring troops home, but they also want to close the door for trade and travel and the spreading of ideas, and that's quite different."

"The [US] Founders, I think, had it right when they said, 'Trade with people, be friends with people, but don't get involved in their internal affairs and don't get involved in entangling alliances,' and you'd be a lot less likely to fight people that you're trading with than if you have protectionist measures and sanctions on countries [like] we do today."
