Southern California - Republican presidential candidate Fred Thompson is now embroiled in a scandal of his own after triggering massive wildfires near Los Angeles over the weekend. Thompson, who drives a red pick-up truck, was out on the campaign trail when he reluctantly lit off one of his own farts -- thereby sparking a raging inferno amidst the dry scrub.
By Sunday afternoon, at least two-thousand firefighters were slowly battling flames across tens of thousands of acres due to Thompson's negligent prank of lighting his own farts in order to blow smoke out his ass. The ensuing flames, fanned by extremely high winds, have threatened thousands of already tanned people and are causing massive property destruction.
Containment efforts thus far have been ineffective. Until the strong winds die down, there is little that firefighters can do other than hope for Mother Nature's mercy. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, however, did unsuccessfully attempt to extinguish the flames as 'Mr. Freeze' (a role he once played in the movie Batman & Robin).
