It has been a year of political mayhem for the Bush campaign. With the near bankruptcy of the social security administration, the still flagging unemployment figures, the media attention on the democratic primaries and the promotion of senseless xenophobia, it is a wonder they have found time to breath.
Nevertheless, those dauntless crusaders have still managed to find time to compile a selection of television commercials featuring the top man himself surrounded by the politically positive images of the death, sorrow and destruction of the 9/11 attacks.
So, what's next for the campaign? Insider information has it that the 9/11 commercials will be followed up by a serious of television shorts that again display Bush. However, this time his noble visage will be juxtaposed by images of the Laci Peterson murder. The drop line: "Every American Matters!"
Critics of the new televisions shorts have argued that they needlessly depict scenes of a horrific tragedy for which no-one has yet been held fully accountable. But none of this is can deter the ever perseverant Bush who argues, "We used 9/11 didn't we?"
