(Washington) - The U.S. presidential election of 2008 has been cancelled due to lack of interest. The American electorate is highly unmotivated to vote in 2008 and both Democrat and Republican parties admit they do not have any viable candidate to put forth for the office of president.
As for the U.S. Constitution, clearly stating that Presidential elections shall be held every 4 years, a White House spokesperson replied, "That's OK, we don't pay much attention to the Constitution anymore. It's outdated. And it's more of a general guideline anyway."
The cancellation of the election is OK with the voters too. Rather than hold their noses and vote, they would just as soon skip the whole thing ... and leave the presidential chair empty.
