This prompted one media insider at the Radio and Television Correspondents' Association dinner to speculate about the wording on Obama's invitation: 7pm for 7.30pm, Black Tie, No Blacks?
No actual racism was detected at last night's event. But George Bush's taunt of "Not enough press" mocking the Senator's no-show could prove pivotal.
"I guess Obama's saving up the last laugh for the day cameras show Bush being given that lethal injection," the source observed.
