New York - (Rotters): Supermodel Naomi Campbell will begin her community service sentence on 19th March by working as a scrubber at a Lower East Side warehouse for the New York Sanitation Department.
Campbell was sentenced in January to attend an anger management course, pay a $360 fine and work for five days cleaning lavatories, sweeping rubbish and scrubbing floors after hitting her maid Ana Scolavino in the head with a mobile phone during an argument.
While the judge initially praised Campbell's impressive aim and record in using electronic gadgetry as missiles thrown at insubordinate employees, the Prosecution was adamant that as this was her fourth consecutive assault offence a substantial sentence was necessary.
In 1998 Campbell threw a phone at pesky personal assistant Georgina Galanis during a fight in a hotel room, causing extensive bruising. Then in 2005 she clocked another assistant Amanda Brack with s BlackBerry hand-held personal organizer and injured the woman's head.
However her all time careeer best was trashing Flavio Briatore's $50 million yacht because she didn't like what a waiter was offering on the menu for dinner one night.
Naomi will be reporting to the NY Sanitation Department in a fetching Armani-designed community service uniform with the inimicable and stylish logo on the back which says "I Am A NYSD Scrubber".
So, no real change there after all...
