American Idol judge, Simon Cowell, was last night refusing to comment on the sex photo scandal which threatens to destroy his career.
A series of photographs, published by a leading British tabloid, show Cowell in various stages of undress and include several full frontal poses which leave nothing to the imagination.
American Idol producers have been standing by Cowell but across America the photos have been condemned as filth.
The pictures were taken in 1964 when Simon was just 3 months old and at the time a struggling baby with few prospects.
They were taken by his mother and entered into 'Playbabe' magazines Bonny Baby competition, for them to have emerged now however, while he is at the height of his fame, is hugely embarrassing for the music mogul.
"Simon knew the photo's existed," sid life-long friend Sinitta, "But he hoped they had been forgotten about. It's all so long ago, he was just a baby back then."
There has been speculation, however, that the pics are fake and leading digital imaging expert, Raymond Dingbat, has told reporters.
"Baby pictures are the easiest to simulate because they all look the same."
