Replacing Capt Lisa Nowak, above, has been a triumph

Lackland Air Force Base - (Rioters): Michelle Mantrap, the 38-24-36 USAF drill sergeant demoted for her nude Playboy centerfold pictures, has been invited by NASA to audition for the replacement position formerly occupied by Captain Lisa Nowak, the Discovery astronaut charged with attempting to kill her love rival.

Sergeant Mantrap was removed by the USAF from extended active duty at Lackland last Friday and told to report to the Iowa National Guard.

But a secret contract negotiated by her lawyers has seen her successfully land the leading lady role of NASA's forthcoming International Space Station sequel which will recast the entire dramatis personae of the Discovery team ahead of shooting a movie about the Nowak affair aboard the newly constructed ISS extension.

The storyline has been altered somewhat so that the love-rivals will actually slug it out aboard the ISS and not the sleazy Florida parking lot where Captian Nowak was eventually arrested.

And instead of bog-standard NASA-issue adult diapers the cast will wear custom-built Armani-designed panty-linered shorts with the couturier's logo displayed prominently.

Rumors that Commander Oelfelein is to be played by Kazakhstani actor Mr Borat are unconfirmed and NASA has insisted that Ms Mantrap is the only replacement for a largely original cast of ISS blockbuster.

Meanwhile copies of Playboy featurning the 'Tough Love' Mantrap topless pictures have sold out in every State ahead of a ballsy plan to relaunch the edition as a souvenir for allied troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

More news expected next week.
