Two north pole magnets are suing because they really love each other and are not allowed to unite. According to their attorney, Dave Smith, they should have the right to express their attraction to one another and not be forced to keep it hidden.
"In a nation that celebrates freedom, you'd think that any two magnets that love each other would be allowed to be united together," says Smith.
But try as they might, they cannot remain united no matter what they try. The stronger their attraction, the more opposition they face.
The one named as Magnet A in the lawsuit says that he's not sure why there's so much magnetophobia. He says, "Everyone keeps us apart."
Not everyone sees it this way. A local minister, Dr. Gerald Hamm, says, "This is just unnatural and an abomination. It is God who's keeping them apart."
The couple is set to appear in District Court next week.
