PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island - A group of scientific explorers from Yale University have just made an amazing discovery in the smallest state in the nation.
The Yale team has just discovered an undiscovered volcano located about 29.7 miles west of the state capital of Providence.
The volcano has been named Mount Pearl P. Dafty in honor of state senator Pearl P. Dafty, a Republican from Providence.
When asked why the volcano was named after the senator the leader of the scientific explorers responded by saying it was named after the senator because she had donated $2,900 to the exploration team.
Mount Pearl P. Dafty is being categorized as a category 2 volcano, meaning that it has molten lava in its base and it could possibly erupt at any time without any warning whatsoever.
SIDENOTE: The Rhode Island State Department of Tourism is already making plans to film a commercial at the volcano site and telling viewers to visit Rhode Island's pride and joy Mount Pearl P. Dafty the largest volcano east of the Mississippi River.
