Washington,D.C.-The Obama administration announced today that President Obama has signed an executive order delaying the start of Daylight Savings Time until after the elections in 2016.
The move, which was widely anticipated, comes on the heels of pleas by top senate Democrats, afraid of being trounced in the polls by voters who would have lost an hour of sleep this year if the time change had gone ahead as planned. Republicans see the ploy as yet another power grab by Team Obama.
Senator Max Ruckus(Reformed Drunk-Tennessee), issued a statement decrying the move: "The presidential decree does nothing to stop us from having to turn clocks back one hour in the fall. The resulting chaos should this plan go forward would have us losing one hour every year for the next three years. In 2016 residents of the United States will go to the polls three hours later. This is an obvious attempt by the Democrats to influence an election they are certain to lose."
