The news that Jane Austen would become only the third woman, besides Queen Elizabeth II, to appear on an English bank note has prompted US Treasury officials to endorse $10 bills with an equally iconic figure.
"We toyed with the idea of having Bionic Man Steve Austin adorn $5 bills" said official Ian Kerwood "but we decided that Ausitn Powers, though he is British, and played by a Canadian in the movies, would be more apt. Anyway, we couldn't think of anyone else called Asutin."
The UK, it is rumored, will also start adding more historical figures to their bank notes. Ace detective, Sherlock Holmes, who invented the British police force and solved more crimes than any other British detective and looked like Robert Downey Jnr is set to appear on a note in the near future, as is super Wizard Harry Potter, who created magic, broomsticks and famously wrote a best selling book, based on his life.
