AUSTIN, Texas--The Majority Republican House today took up debate on a new abortion law, considered the strictest in the nation, which would protect even the intention of a man to father a child.
The law, called the "Gleam in Your Daddy's Eye Bill," would "restrict from abortion, or even any form of birth control, the potential issue of any man in Texas who copulates with a woman, if he intends to father upon that woman a child."
Said State Senator Glenn Hader: "If God intends a healthy man to bring another life into this world, who are we to get in the way of God's will?"
The new bill would exempt any man who had gone blind through repeated masturbation.
In spite of fierce opposition by most women in the Lone Star State, the bill is expected to pass, because this is, after all, Texas.
