Longtime radio talk show host Corky Blecka announced today that he had been fired by the station's program director for saying "exacerbate" on the air. "I'm not surprised," he said, adding, "They threatened to fire me once before when I used the word 'heinous' on my show."
Program Director Dooley Fratzner stood by his decision to terminate Blecka, saying, "I ain't gonna stand for anybody using that kind of vile language on my radio station."
Blecka said he tried to explain to Fratzner that "exacerbate" wasn't a bad word. "I even showed him the dictionary where it defines exacerbate as 'making a problem worse,' but he didn't care. I told him it wasn't fair that I was penalized, but he thought that was a dirty word, too."
