Despite the best intentions of jobsworths in councils up and down the land to thwart the good intentions of people to hold local street parties in celebration of the Royal Wedding, the residents of Dartford have won their appeal to hold their street party on the nearby M25.
The chairman of the Dartford Street Party Association, Percy Throwup explained that as the M25 was just a large 117-mile car park during most of the day, it seemed a very civil thing to hold their wedding street party there.
Jaded, tired and high blood-pressured motorists would be able to 'eat and crawl' as they made their way at less than 1mph to their destination, joining in with jubilant locals as the happy royal couple tied the knot.
Gaming salesman Roger Ahmadinejad (no relation), whose company produces the official Royal Wedding jigsaw puzzle said he hoped "the plans wouldn't go to pieces", while the representative from Wendy Wools hoped that "any potential party plans wouldn't unravel".
