Weather boffins are today warning shivering Britons to get ready for a wet and cold weekend.
They say today (Wednesday) is likely to be the hottest day of the year so far and while Thursday and Friday are likely to get cooler, the weekend could be a sizzler.
"We're saying it's looking like a barbecue weekend," said a Met Office source.
"So you know what that means - get the wellies and umbrellas ready!
"If you haven't fathomed it by now, when we say sunshine, prepare for rain. We said last summer was going to be a bonanza of barbecue weather and look what happened.
"So, yeah... barbecue weekend. For ducks!"
