Today protesters from across the UK are gathering together to protest against the government cuts in public services, which they claim will "devastate communities and destroy societies".
A group of protesters spoke exclusively to TheSpoof.com.
One said, "Every week I hang around the dole office to get my giro. There's a whole group of us who do that, we're getting to know each other. Sometimes we'll go to the pub afterwards to spent our hard-earned handouts. There's a real sense of community there which I think will be ruined if the government start cutting our dole money."
Another protester said, "I'm retired and I have no friends. So I like to sit in the library all day reading books, looking creepy and trying to get a peek up the librarian's skirt. If they close the library, I don't know what I'll do. What if I need to look something up in an encyclopedia - where else can you do that but at the library?"
Another said, "Well I don't really use any public services myself, there's nothing useful they provide. But I think it must be terrible for all those poor people who do rely on them for whatever they do. Oh I do respect the hard-working poor and unemployed. I think we should throw as much money and public services as possible at them."
