Startling research this week, has shown that man's best friend is very in touch with the type of music we owners listen to, and can boost their IQ levels.
Professor Jack Russell from the University of Basingstoke explained the team tested over 20,000 dogs sourced from the kennel club, and found that 2000 of them responded to Madonna's music and encouraged the males to mate primarily with African breeds.
350 liked Simon and Garfunkel, but then wouldn't talk to the rest of the dogs for about thirty years.
5000 liked the Beach Boys, they then started to behave oddly, just sort of ground to a halt until the team took them to an indoor park, though god knows why!
Most of the dogs responded well to prog rock.
But Yes irritated them whereas Pink Floyd made them concentrate to the same IQ level as, according to rough estimates, a Daily Star reader.
Their favourite Floyd offering appears to be Darkside of the Moon and, of course, Animals.
This research could have far reaching implications, hopefully it will lead to more constructive and sensible research.
