Chilean Miner Wants To Get Back To Work

Funny story written by Herr Riballs

Friday, 15 October 2010

Florencio Avalos, the first of the heroic Chilean miners to be rescued, has told of his burning desire to get back down the pit.

Following 69 days trapped underground in the San Jose mine, many would think his ambition insane but not brave Florencio.

He explained "When I came to the surface I saw blue sky, birds, sun. Beautiful. Just beautiful. Now I just want to go back to the pit."

It has emerged that Mr Avalos has been offered book deals, chat show appearances and a place on new reality TV shows Strictly Come Coalmining and Chile's Got Talent. However, the shy Senor wants to turn his back on all that and just get back to work.

He said "I'm not a celebrity and don't want to be one. I've just spent 69 days underground having a good craic with the lads. No women, no nagging, just a good laugh. It was ace."

It appears that Mr Avalos is also struggling to get re-adjusted to 'normal' life and his marriage is in tatters. He explained "While i've been away the wife hasn't done a tap. The grass at the front must be three foot high. She's not even paid the council tax. I'm just sick of all this being left to me while she sits there night after night watching the soaps and playing Foxy Bingo."

And he added "It's true what they say. Men were invented cos vibrators can't mow the lawn. I'm off."

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
