Residents of Rothbury, Northumberland, are up in arms over plans for a new theme park, "Moatland."
Raoul Moat shot himself near the village after murdering his former girlfriend and her boyfriend earlier this year.
Since the incidents, a ghoulish tourism industry has developed around the scene of the crimes.
But plans for Moatland - announced by Russian entrepreneur Alexei Bolokov - are the last straw for villagers.
One local businessman said: "This could bring much needed cash into the area, but I can't believe it will get planning permission.
"Bolokov was up here a couple of days ago talking about his plans and he got short shrift, I can tell you."
Bolokov's plans are thought to include a shooting gallery, ghost train and a hide'n'seek village.
This is not the Russian's first attempt to cash in on murder scenes. Two years ago he was denied permission to build a "West World" in Gloucester.
