England goalkeeper Sid James is joining the Green Party. 'I am impressed by them' Sid explained 'they have given me a new lease of life.'
But Robert Green, England's former goalkeeper - who committed treason in the match against the United States - has told us that despite his name he will not be joining James in the Greens. 'I like Greens with my roast beef and Yorkshire pudding but not in my politics' he announced from the Kitchen Garden which will be the base for his new career.
Comradely rivalry between Sid James and Robert Green is acknowledged in the England camp. Star forward Mickey Rooney has announced on behalf of the team. 'We don't mind if James or Green are in goal. Either of them is sure to put on an English shirt for the team.'
England manager, Mafia Boss Capello, is not so sure.
'Greens are out. They will play no further part in my diet. I'm going for James because Sid has had wide experience in the Australian League.' Sid James has been asked by Boss Capello to keep his trap shut - or else.
Meanwhile Algeria see a weakness for England with James in goal. They feel sure he will follow the Green Party and become goalkeeper for Brighton after the World Cup.
