There was drama in the north west English town of Lancaster last week, when a man was cautioned by police after he was spotted taking photographs of three nuns as they walked down a suburban street.
The three sisters were out taking an afternoon stroll when the man, Mark Lowton, of no fixed address, was seen crouching behind a parked vehicle with an SLR camera complete with telescopic sights and other unnecessary gadgets attached.
Police were called and, upon investigation, found that Lowton claimed to be a 'journalist' who was about his business obtaining a token picture of nuns for a photo competition for a satirical news website that he runs for desperate would-be writers.
Sergeant John Twaddle, of Lancaster Constabulary, said:
"We found this dodgy-looking moustachioed bloke snapping away at these nuns, and told him to be on his way. Sicko."
