Police in Wiltshire are investigating an allegation that a member of the public squeezed a tube of toothpaste from the top of a tube instead of from the bottom, leaving an unsightly bendy bit in the middle of the tube, and lashings of toothpaste still in the bottom half!
The allegation was made at Swindon Police Station on Wednesday, the incident having been alleged to have happened just before bedtime on Tuesday night.
The allegator, a father of six, claimed:
"It certainly wasn't me, and my wife, under rigorous questioning, told me that she hadn't done it either. That only leaves the kids."
The man's six children, who are between the ages of 5 and 11, all deny having been involved in the incident, and forensic experts are currently trying to establish just who was responsible for the outrage.
