British citizens have been advised to exercise vigilance when going for a walk in the local park - as they may well stumble upon an Al Qaeda cell, either in training or on operational duty.
This despicable Al Qaeda trend began with the emergence of a seriously dangerous terrorist cell known as 'The Blackburn Resistance' who carried out terror training exercises in broad daylight in the town's Corporation Park.
Manchester Crown Court was shown footage of 'The Blackburn Resistance' crawling about in undergrowth in the park whilst kitted out in what they probably imagined a mujahadeen jihadist would wear. Or a taliban.
Whilst the defendants did look pretty ridiculous in the footage - like kids playing Cowboys and Indians, as one reporter described them - there was little room for doubt that the defendants would have posed a threat to public safety. Given the opportunity.
The message from the nation's security agencies is that all citizens should be vigilant at all times, and that if they see arab types running about in the park making machine gun noises they should call Crimestoppers.
