Eurostar came to a halt in the Channel Tunnel and thousands of passangers stranded for hours. A team of expert investigators located the cause of the mulfunction in the driver's cabin.

A temperature sensor was blocked by the driver's onions. The driver Monsieur Gaul said that he had no idea his onions were blocking the sensor. He added: "I must be more careful with my onions in the future."

Eurostar is giving away free onions to passangers affected by cancellations.

The chief executive of Eurostar announced today that they were going to apply to the European Commission for legislation to allow trains to overtake. They will present the overtaking facility on motorways as proof that overtaking is necessary to run a smooth and efficient rail service.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
