South London man, Ethelred Fish - renowned as a risk taker in his south London neighbourhood, today sparked a massive security alert when he freaked out and started riding a bicycle around the retaining wall on the roof of a south London towerblock.
Fish - nicknamed 'Kipper' by neighbours, was spotted riding a Raleigh Chopper cycle 300 feet above the ground, putting his life in mortal danger as the slightest gust of wind could have resulted in his being blown off his rooftop cycle track - to a very messy demise.
It is not known what sparked 'Kipper's' bout of madness, but as police, fire crews and ambulances rushed to the scene, friends and neighbours tried to talk him down.
"He is a bit of a nutter," one neighbour told us, as we watched 'Kipper' tottering precariously on his Raleigh Chopper, mere inches away from a fatal 300 foot plummet.
"Could be anything," the neighbour continued. "He once went off like this when the paperboy failed to deliver his daily paper."
"And when he thought he'd been short-changed dahn the mini-mart," a bystander added.
'Kipper' was eventually hauled to safety by a police negotiator, taken away in an ambulance, and sectioned again.
Reports indicate that he went off on one because his biscuit broke up as he dunked it in his morning cup of tea.
More as we get it.
