A Dudley man has today been diagnosed with a cold. He was reported to be sneezing, coughing, and felt a bit sweaty and tired. He claims that he caught the cold from a friend of his, who had recently returned from holiday in Mexico.
It is thought that germs can be passed through the air between people and can cause the cold to spread from person to person. People are warned that if they catch it they will also feel mildly ill, and may wish to take some medicine to get better.
The government is this week delivering leaflets to every household in the UK to warn them that anyone can catch a cold, and what to do in the event of catching one.
This follows last week's government leaflet about "How to deal with pins and needles".
