Barnstaple - A man in a trench coat got on a downtown bus on Tuesday and surprised passengers by pulling out a dead cat which he then proceed to start swinging in a reckless and violent manner.
Passenger and witness Marjorie Givens says "I think it was a Havana Brown or a Tonkinese, quite uncommon. It's not often you see such a cat let alone dead on a bus swung round in circles by a stranger."
"First he swung it roundabout nearly hitting me and several others, a right good fright it was."
"Then he started doing giant circles with it banging the cat's head on the roof of the bus on the upswing bumpity-bump, good gracious.
The bus driver had a few cross words with him and let him off after one stop.
"Barnstaple is not a large city you know."
"A man could easily hurt someone swinging a dead cat here."
