A confectionery group today revealed that the whole credit crunch was a covert advertising campaign that got out of hand.
"The Credit Crunch is actually our new chocolate based crunchy confectionery snack aimed at the Kit Kat sector of the market." said a spokesman. "The plan was to get the whole country talking about it before releasing it to an expectant market kinda like Blair Witch."
Other products in the range were going to include 'choco recession bars', 'crispy economic downturn crunch bars' and 'Snickers flavoured mass unemployment bars'.
The new range was a response to the highly successful crisp flavours of 'Salt and Depression', 'Beef and High Interest Rates' and 'Sausage and Soaring Fuel Bill'.
