The Home Office last night released a shocking statement that the 118 118 duo have been arrested on suspicion of stealing highly confidential personal data from the Government.
It is believed that the recent spate of misplaced and stolen laptops and memory sticks are down to the daring duo. Scotland Yard has for some time suspected the bearded duo and has been watching their movements with interest.
The situation came to a head last night when police stormed the secret head quarters of the 118 118 gang armed with full riot gear. The information masterminds did not put up a struggle, however according to a Home Office spokesman, Jeffrey Munter, the pair are so far not co-operating fully with enquiries. The suspected theives released a joint statement this morning: "I've got your number!"
The two men of athletic build are said to have gained access to the Home Office's office by posing as employees and stealing the personal data of millions of British tax payers and prisoners. The personal data includes information such as national insurance numbers, telephone numbers, and bank account details.
A further Home Office statement is expected early tomorrow.
