Self confessed Bi-sexual David Miliband has insisted he is not "campaigning" for the Labour leadership - despite admitting to be the man behind the recent spate of 'Yo Gordon' jokes at Westminster.
He said that frustration prompted him to start the anti PM jokes due to the "fatalism" in the party after its defeat in the Glasgow East by-election.
When asked whether or not the joke, 'Yo Gordon is so ugly when he looks out of a car window he gets arrested for mooning' implied that the Prime Minister had a face like a Fife and Drum, an embarrassed Mr Miliband replied, "On reflection I can see how one could construe this as a negative comment. However I would like to state on record that I do not believe that Mr Brown resembles an arse in any way. This joke has been taken out of context".
He said his comment could have been aimed more at David Cameron, rather than the Labour Party Leader.
However when our reporter showed evidence of graffiti written in the Men's toilet at Westminster saying, 'Yo Gordon is so stupid that he thought Sherlock Holmes was a housing project' the Foreign Secretary clearly looked shaken. When asked directly if he was planning a leadership bid, Mr Miliband said: "No, I'm not campaigning for anything other than a successful Labour government".
"The truth is we had a very bad result in the Glasgow by-election. I was angered by the sense of fatalism that had imbued in parts of the media and the Labour party…I thought I would inject some humour into the house. I apologise to Mr Brown if my joke has gone too far"
"Gordon will lead us forward and the rest of us have a contribution to make".
Number 10 has officially refused to respond to Miliband's comments. However a government insider said today that the Prime Minister was not amused. He added, "It is fair to say Yo Foreign Secretary is so out of a job he's as fucked as an Edwina on a John Major floor"
