Is there a foreigner in the house

The government has been taken to task today by the Office of Fair Trading because a consumer from Bridlington complained that the Foreign Secretary is not in fact foreign.

While the current incumbent, David Milliband, does indeed have a Belgian father and a Polish mother, he was born in London. Betty Scroats, a consumer campaigner from Bridlington doesn't feel that this is foreign enough. She said:

"I have been campaigning for months about the Speaker of the House. I feel it breaks the Trades Description Act that he doesn't actually speak. This is ongoing and I hope to take it to the European Court of Human Rights in the not too distant future.

"However, when I found out that the Foreign Secretary is not foreign, I nearly hit the roof. I was off round to the OFT before fake celebrity Jane Goody could open that cavernous thing I believe doctors and morticians have identified as her mouth.

"I feel that this is quite underhand and very misleading of the government to continue calling the Foreign Secretary "The Foreign Secretary", especially as he is rather British and not the least bit foreign.

"Ok, I grant you that when previous incumbent, Margaret Beckett was in office she was certainly strange, but still not particularly foreign. Alien maybe. But not at all foreign.

"Next thing they'll be saying Gordon Brown has been a great PM."

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
