A 51 year old male from Wigan was arrested yesterday after attempting to make conversation with morning commuters on the Piccadilly Line.
Geoff Pringle who had not been drinking said 'I was going t'Harrods store with the wife and just making conversation, next thing I'm arrested.'
One witness who did not wish to be named said 'What on earth was he thinking? Talking to passengers? On the tube? Hangings far too good for him'.
Meanwhile 29 year old, Andrew Simpkins of Romford, Essex has made history by making it from Liverpool St to his office without being approached by a 'Chugger'.
Simpkins said 'in one practice run I was once 50 yards from my office before being collared by the RNIB, I knew I was improving and making progress. The following week I succeeded'.
He is already planning his next challenge - walking down Bishopsgate without being handed a free newspaper.
