Jonny Wilkinson has sold the use of the visible space on his legs to sponsors. Following a conversation with boy racer Lewis Hamilton, Wilkinson realised that he was not exploiting the full commercial opportunities of his own bipedal global brand.
Jonny spoke exclusively to TheSpoof.com:
"Lewis showed me how a racing driver's car and clothing are festooned - yes festooned that is the word he used - with advertiser logos. Then I was chatting to my very good friend David Beckham. Becks explained how tattoos are dead easy to do - and seem to grab the headlines."
The brands that are to advertise on the famous Wilkinson legs are not yet known and Jonny is giving nothing away. "I have to keep my legs covered until my sponsors are ready for them to be unveiled. It is a bit odd not to be in control of my limbs."
England rugby supporters may feel that Wilkinson's recent performance against Wales means that he hasn't been in control of his limbs for some time.
