Ministers have confirmed that the the contaminated earth that has been excavated in the preparations for building the new 2012 Olympic Stadium will be sent up North for dumping.
In a statement, a Downing Street spokesperson said: "The earth is dangerous and dirty and cannot stay in London where rich and influential people live. We are sending it up to the North where life is grim and people won't notice."
The Conservative party are unlikely to fight this policy. Famously David Cameron was asked whether he had ever been up North. He refused to answer, saying that what he did in his youth was his own business.
This website sent a reporter up North to ask local people what they thought, but the responses were largely unintelligible.
