Santa Claus was at the centre of a new row after it was announced that his staff had lost the names of billions of children who had been naughty or nice over the last year.
However, Santa said that he was confident that the risk of naughty children being able to fraudulently claim presents by using the identity of those who had been nice was extremely unlikely. "Although we do not know where these details are, we are confident that they are still in the North Pole" a spokeself announced today.
However, calls for Santa's resignation are growing. Tony Blair, former popular Prime Minister who recently saw his support by illegally invading Iraq, led the calls for Father Christmas to be given the "sack". Asked if he was interested in the position, Blair refused to rule himself out. "Only when you have been universally adored can you have the humility to suppose that you might be able to fill such a role"
