Old Bailey, London - (Ass Mess): Five boys convicted of killing a harmless middle aged man by pelting him with stones and rocks while he played cricket on the village green have been sentenced to two years exile in Iran.
The boys who now aged between 12 and 14 were convicted of a Sharia Law type of illegal manslaughter in August.
They will be put on the first plane to Tehran on Monday, with only £100 each and an overnight bag to see them through their sentence.
Old Bailey Judge Warwick McKinnon said today: "You little thugs will now have first hand experience of what it's like to live in a country that condones stoning.
"Serves you right you horrible bastards."
Following the sentence, the police officer in charge of investigating the crime said he hoped the sentence would act as a deterrent to anybody else daft enough to try a copy-cat killing.
"Personally I blame too much TV coverage of the war in Iraq," the officer said, "because where else would kids get such stupid ideas?"
