Royal Courts of Justice, London - (Conspiracy Mess): A frantic Mohammed Fayed has demanded that the coroner conducting an inquest into Princess Diana's death orders her immediate exhumation.
He is claiming Diana may have accidentally swallowed an engagement ring that his son Dodi gave her on their fateful last night together.
This would prove the couple were betrothed and killed because of their imminent wedding.
"The swallowed ring is something the autopsy could have missed," Fayed's lawyers said today.
"In any case, we want it back. "It's definitely worth a bob or two. And all this palaver is costing our client millions.
"He has to cover his expenses somehow."
Buckingham Palace sources have consistently indicated that tearing up the sods that cover Diana's coffin on its island burial site at Althorpe House is the ultimate nightmare scenario.
"God knows what else might be buried there."
