Cult writer Martin Amis has admitted his novels are 'a load of bobbins' and 'a bit crap' under interrogation by Jeremy Paxman.
Speaking to the razor-tongued interviewer on BBC2's Newsnight last night, he said he was thinking of burning his entire oeuvre as a sacrifice to the great goddess J.K.Rowling.
Amis, the writer of the legendary Pink Floyd song Money, said: 'I picked up a copy of Harry Potter and I was quite frankly blown away by its perfect prose stylings.
'In comparison my own work is a load of old bobbins.
'To be honest I've always thought the books were a bit crap, but people kept telling me I was the greatest living English novelist.
'I deliberately made my last book rubbish but nobody seemed to notice.
'Instead they offered me a post in Manchester University's creative writing department.
'I'm a fraud, and it's about time people knew the truth.'
