There was much head scratching and pipe choking this week at the sudden announcement of yet another app. for the iPhone. In a move that has been conversely called "inexplicable", "absurd" and "what the hell?" Apple recently proclaimed the coming of an app. to clearly and easily explain the rules, process and tactics of Cricket in a such a way that even NASCAR fans can comprehend it.

The news was met with a mixed response, particularly from the colonial side of the Pond where there seems to be a great deal of confusion between the winged, noise making insect and the British invented flat-bat sporting event. Noted American commentator Mike Michelson was quoted as saying "Cricket? You mean that wrong baseball thing?"

Meanwhile, in Britain, intelligent people have greeted the announcement with some relief, sheepishly admitting to having somewhat lost the plot on the nation's great game, when the rules started changing on an annual basis in a bid to stop being constantly and embarrassingly beaten in by India and Pakistan.

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
