Jeremy Hunt and Starbucks

Funny story written by pjc

Wednesday, 11 September 2013

Jeremy Hunt has become so concerned about the number of hours people wait, often in excess of 4, that he has arranged for a free Starbucks restaurant to be attached to every A. and E. in England. Along with free delectable coffee and pastries the restaurants will, to help people while away the time, provide free internet access and mobile phone packages.

In return for this valuable contract Starbucks have promised to consider paying Corporation tax in this country rather than through a fictious office in Waggawagga where there is a nil tax haven. The extra revenue raised is expected to pay for this wonderful new service.

A and E staff, by way of a change, are almost looking forward to dealing with complaints by patients that they are being seen too soon and not being given sufficient time to complete their latest coffee and computer game.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
