Five ring-shaped flying saucers ominously lingered over Olympic Stadium in London during opening ceremonies of the 2012 Olympic Games.
"When I saw the flying saucers and a beam of light came out of the sky, I thought I was witnessing the apocalypse," said one witness. "But when I found out they were only abducting the Uzbekistan badminton team, I realized it was no big deal."
Just for laughs, the five saucers lingered in a formation resembling the Olympic rings logo before flying away at five times the speed of sound.
The Royal Air Force immediately downplayed the event as simply a combination of weather balloons and a migrating flock of whooping cranes.
