Portsmouth are destined for greatness again following the signing of Benjani on a free transfer, according to club "superfan" Jake Seaport.
The Zimbabwean striker played for the south coast club in the Premier League between 2006 and 2008. Although he scored just 19 goals in 77 appearances his work rate made him a hero with the Pompey faithful.
His transfer to Manchester City in 2008 was almost farcical - many fans thought he didn't want to leave and that he deliberately tried to scupper the deal by getting lost on the way to the airport, missing his flight and the transfer deadline.
Benjani was presented to the crowd at Fratton Park before the home game against Brighton on Saturday.
Said Mr Seaport: "This is is the last piece in the puzzle. He's just the man to fire us back into the big time is Benjani.
"He was about the only bloke what scored for us against them bloody Chelsea when they was champions. Just think what he's gonna do to Championship defences.
"Benjani, wo-oh, Benjani, wo-oh!"
