Shaking off claims of corruption, unsanitary conditions in the athlete's village and collapsed construction India has started to turn things around, showcasing the talents of the young men and women competing for their country by being the first games to post competition results prior to the opening ceremonies.

India's chef de mission Ramsalla Singhal beamed as he announced "India has placed first in all events on day one and already has claimed six gold medals."

"At this pace we may find out that India is alone at the end as leader in the medal count tables."

"I can hardly contain my excitement for the opening ceremonies as you may well imagine. Never before have athletes of a country had the pleasure of wearing their medals for events yet to take place as they walk out with their flag and their heads held high."

"This will be a great day for India!"

"Our athletes have been training full-out for expectations like this to be realized so this should not come as a surprise now that the world is getting ready to watch us with their own two eyes."

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
