Today has seen the much expected announcement that Andrew (Freddy) Flintoff will be retiring from Test Cricket following this summers ashes series.
Flintoff has announced that his decision follows a series of injuries that have told his body it is time to give up the long and arduous format of the game. However, our inside sources tell us a different story.
Peter McGrew, leading England Cricket fan and member of the Barmy Army claims it has more to do with 'consistently shit performances' and a fear of being dropped from a side that unsuprisingly has performed better in his absence this year.
In support of the above, further exclusive source William De-Pluey, financial advisor to the stars, states that the real reason is a clash of test matches with other more lucrative deals such as the Indian Premier League, International beer drinking championships and the round the world Pedalo series.
Flintoff offered us the following after hearing the above. "Your round or mine?".
More to follow as soon as we hear it.
