Some in Dallas are worried that Pavel Podkolzin the new 7'5" center is another Shawn Bradley. "Not at all...", Mark Cuban told the media at a Mavericks dinner. "Pavel Podkolzin is not a soft white man like Shawn Bradley has turned out to be." Mavericks President of Operations Donnie Nelson told the media earlier in the evening that aquiring Pavel Podkolzin was not a move the Mavericks made incase they do not land the other giant in the NBA Shaq, but that Pavel is merely "a missing pieice" in the Dallas Mavericks master plan.
Pavel Podkolzin is a giant among the rookie class of 2004, and he is still growing. Later this year the Mavericks will give Pavel a medical procedure that will stop his growth. Pavel has been diagnosed with acromegaly, a hormonal disorder that occurs when the pituitary gland produces excess growth hormone (GH).
It has been reported that just 2 years ago, Pavel was 7'3". 2 years ago? Why are the Mavericks going to give him the procudure to stop his growth? He could be over 8 FEET tall in a few years time. He wouldnt even have to raise his arms up to dunk!
